Baker Beach, San Francisco

Special California edition this week. According to Yelp, Baker Beach is the top beach in San Francisco. I’d agree but watch out for gay nudists frolicking!

A while back I had a request from one of our viewers of the site (from Germany none the less) ask if they could print one of our photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. I obliged as all of our photos are free for download and the only thing I requested was to see a photo of the finished product. Well they recently emailed a photo of it hanging on their wall and I must say it looks great! (Thanks for the photo Florian)

I haven’t put as much time into this site as I want to because of all the other projects I’m involved in but it’s cool that these photos are of value to some people. Feel free to download the full sized images!
Panoramic photo of Downtown San Francisco. I have a few photos of the city shot from Sausalito. More to come soon!

Steamer Lane is one of the best and most popular surf spots in Santa Cruz and possibly all of Northern California. The majority of Santa Cruz’s top professional surfers make this spot their home break with names like Peter Mel, Jason ‘Ratboy’ Collins, Barney, etc.
Even though the waves break close to the cliff, my standard lens didn’t have enough zoom to get really good photos of the surfers. I hope to get a telephoto lens sometime in the future when my photography skills improve.
On a side note, the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum is located on the point of Steamer Lane. They have some pretty cool surfing photos…you should check it out and make a small donation!
Photos from Pigeon Point Light Station. Located 50 miles south of San Francisco, is one of the tallest lighthouses in America. It is located on California Highway 1 (PCH), 20 miles south of Half Moon Bay and 27 miles north of Santa Cruz.

I made my first trip to Yosemite National Park in northern California this past weekend. What an amazing place! Clean air, sweeping views, dramatic cliffs, snow, abundant wildlife, and even the occasional waterfall. This first photo was taken from a vista point as we made our way down to the valley (about 40-45 minutes from the Tenaya Lodge which on a side note is a great lodge). You’ll notice one of the waterfalls in the background, El Capitan on the left, and Half Dome.
