Beautiful day for surfing at Diamond Head…light variable winds, knee high peelers, and lots of people! The shore break was more fun, however.

Fun and soft rolling waves

Photos from Day 2 of the Pipeline Masters on Oahu’s North Shore. Waves were treacherous in the 8-12 foot range highlighted with big barrels and tons of broken boards.

Huge 12-15 foot surf (Hawaiian scale) pounded the North Shore today for the first day of the Pipeline Masters. The Pipe Masters is the 3rd and final jewel of the Triple Crown of Surfing. Wave faces up to 30 feet provided spectacular barrels, scary wipeouts, and numerous broken boards.

A rare scene at Pipeline and Off the Wall on Oahu’s North Shore. An empty lineup. Large and stormy surf created dangerous conditions and unridden waves.

2nd jewel of the Triple Crown of Surfing at Sunset Beach. The surf was macking today, 10-15 feet Hawaiian with stormy and challenging conditions.
