Diamond Head Surf – Oahu, Hawaii

A few friends and I surfed at Diamond Head today. We all took longboards out and had some fun in onshore knee high surf at Cliffs. I’ve been wanting to take panoramic photos of Diamond Head for a while now and although the ocean was lumpy and bumpy, the small surf and relatively clean conditions gave me an opportunity to take a few photos from the surf break.
Most of the photos you see of world famous Diamond Head is normally taken from Waikiki, which provides the classic backdrop amongst rows of hotels fronting the beach. I always think it’s interesting to take different/unusual photos. Not many people get a chance to see this perspective of Diamond Head unless you surf out there. Enjoy!

Amazing shots! I surf here regular and have tried getting shots like yours but have never come close. Thanks for sharing and please keep posting!

Hi, your pictures are great. Infact I’d like to use it to be the background header for the non-profit organization website. They specifically request for a diamond head background and since I don’t have a nice picture of diamond head but yours is very natural, I’d like to use yours. I need to know if you prefer to buy the image for copyright purposes or you will allow the association here in hawaii to have for free. I am developing their website for free as well. This is for non-profit organization. Please advice. Thanks a lot.

I am trying to contact you in regards to your diamond head pictures. I am building a website to a non-profit organization and I want to use your first picture of the diamond head as their header since they requested to have a diamond head background. I wanted to make sure that I will not violating any copyrights in using your images. thanks for posting! im in the coast guard and stationed in oregon, diamond heads my home break, and i miss it soo much. this photo brought back great memories!!

I was surfing with my daughter about 3weeks ago @ Cliffs.
Did you take my daughter’s photo?
She was boggie board.

Kiyoko, I don’t believe that was me who took the photo. I didn’t take any photos of surfers that day.
